Interactive experience

Throughout the IMEB programme, you will engage with various shared interactive experiences, including screenings of new films, VR and immersive experiences. This give us a foundation to build upon! Therefore, you should expect to spend about 200 euros per year on various experiences.

International Interactive Experiences

Explore the vast world of International Media and Entertainment Business via our hands-on exploration of the landscape in world MEB landscapes. These experiences allow you to see how different cultures interact with and explore the creative industries. There is an extra cost associated with these experiences.

International COIL partnerships

Throughout the IMEB programme, you will work with other university students all over the world. Many of our courses include a COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) project. Partners are located in Europe, America and Asia!

    • Sprint 1 | ... Fill in the gaps in one of our Essential courses while building more skills and talents.
       
    • Sprint 2 &3 | ... Focus on specific Media/Entertainment skills and talents to maximize your potential and cure your passions.
       
    • Sprint 4 | ... Bring it all together in our client-based lab and do an internship in the field.
  • Targeted students

    Students, who have a Bachelor’s degree in Communication & Media or Business, with a passion to explore the media and entertainment sector.

  • Diploma requirements

    In addition to the general admission requirements for an English bachelor programmes, these are the specific diploma requirements for the abbreviated/one year degree.
    Additional evaluation by study counsellor based on Earlier Obtained Qualifications (EOQ) for students with a Bachelor’s OR Master’s degree in:

    • Ba/Ma in Communication
    • Ba/Ma in Business and Society
    • Ba/Ma in Tourism
    • Ba/Ma in Media Technology or Creation
    • Ba/Ma in Journalism
    • Ba/Ma in Interactive Media Design
    • Ba/Ma in Cultural Studies 

    Additional evaluation by study counsellor based on Earlier Obtained Qualifications (EOQ) and Earlier Obtained Credits (EOC) for students with at least 105 ECTS-credits (exempted EOQ), proving experience/expertise/competence in:

    • Communication skills
    • Business studies
    • Media studies

  • Enrollment procedure

    Students with a Flemish bachelor’s or master’s degree in Communication/Media or Business: 

    • Return the motivation essay to John Arnold for review. 
    • Once your motivation essay has been received and reviewed, you will receive an email requesting an online or face-to-face intake conversation with either John Arnold and Jade van Overmeir or both.  
    • After the intake conversation and if everything is in good standing, you will receive information regarding applying online to the programme. Once the application process, please address all questions concerning this process to Student Services.  

    Students with a non-Flemish bachelor’s or master’s degree in Communication/Media or Business: 

    • Go to the Admission Requirements for International Students page of this website and begin the application process. (Scroll to the bottom of the page.) 
    • Once your motivation essay is uploaded, you will receive an email from John Arnold  (Programme Coordinator) about scheduling an online intake conversation.  
    • After the intake conversation and if everything is in good standing, then Admissions will process your application. Once you begin the application process, please address all questions concerning this process to Admissions.

  • Courses

  • In practice

    During the 6-week SUMMER internship, you gain valuable skills based on the knowledge and practice received during the two semesters. This internship – a requirement for all – can be done within the Belgian landscape or in an International landscape! 

    This internship combines the skills/knowledge from both media and entertainment business as you explore your passion. You can do your internship in any media or entertainment field, including TV production, music, theatre, gaming, VR, distribution.  
    We assist you in finding the perfect internship that fits your passion! 

  • Personal guidance

    Thomas More offers various support services (STUVO, International Support) to assist all of our students.  

    All of our modules come with additional academic support in the form of  Writing/Presentation specialists who can coach you through the nuances of the languages utilised in both written and oral communication. Every module is taught by a team of educational and professional experts who coach you through the process of becoming the best possible media professional!  

    In keeping up with the latest advancements in media technology, the Media and Entertainment Business (International) programme will use a variety of educational methodologies, including face-to-face, blended learning, and online learning, allowing students to learn in a manner suitable to them. 

  • Go international

    This programme includes a high level of internationalisation by infusing each course with international competencies and content. The courses are aligned with our international interactive experiences.

    Via these International Interactive Experiences, we offer opportunities to visit both New York City and Beijing/Shanghai, allowing students the ability to discover the MEB landscapes in these two distinct regions of the world.  

  • International Trips

    During your studies, you have the opportunity to participate in two different international experiences:

    1. a one-week NYC Media Experience or 
    2. a two-week Chinese Entertainment Business Experience. 

    During the NYC trip, you will experience how the Big Apple – the media capital of the United States – sustains a fulfilled media experience for tourists and New Yorkers alike! You visit the international-recognised Paley Center for Media – an archive of American and international media, backstage tours at media companies (like NBC or Vox Media), immersive experiences (like The Color Factory and The Museum of Illusions), museums (The Museum of the Moving Image). In addition, you will attend live tapings of late-night shows or daytime shows.

    During the Chinese trip, you will experience how media and entertainment is consumed by one of the single largest media publics in the world. In conjunction with Hutong University, we visit various media and experience events – like theme parks, film festivals, media companies – while interacting with Chinese university students. In addition, we visit some of the most popular sightseeing spots in China, including the Great Wall!
