The IT Factory is unique in Flanders and tuned in on the Internet of Things (r)evolution. Based on feedback from IT partners who do not only need skilled specialists but also specialists with a good base knowledge of IT, we have 5 specialisations providing a flavour for everyone!

Structure
- Semester 1 | The autumn semester starts mid-September. During this semester you’ll get an in depth understanding of the world of Artificial Intelligence and data. Machine Learning and Data Science are known concepts and you’ll learn to present data and learn new information from your data.
The examination period starts after winter break in January. Students are advised to use winter break to prepare for the examination of the classes.
- Semester 2 | During the spring semester which runs from January until June, you’ll work on an IT project with other students (from IT programmes or others) followed by an internship of 13 weeks.
You can choose between interesting opportunities at international companies like Johnson&Johnson or Nike, You can also do your internship in other countries, not only in Europe, but also in North- or South-America, Asia or Africa.
The examination period starts after the end of classes in May. No study break is foreseen before the start of exams, and students are advised to use Easter break to prepare for the examination of the classes. Exam schedules (with dates for each exam) will be provided to you in the first week of May.

Targeted students
The abridged Bachelor in Applied Computer Science programme is a one-year programme for students who already have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the field of Application Development or Business IT.
Courses
Below you can find an overview of the courses (under reservation of changes), with the number of credits per phase. Credits express how many hours you need on average to process the subject matter (incl. lessons). Count about 25 to 30 hours for 1 study credit.

We think personal coaching is very important, so there’s a close dialogue between teachers and students. You get direct feedback on your work and you’re developing a professional attitude.
